Proactive Communities & the Land Reform Bill
In the second edition of our Insights Series, Dr. Carey Doyle draws on her expertise in town planning and community landownership to consider the draft Land Reform Bill currently in Scottish Parliament. Carey has been deeply involved in supporting and empowering local communities to navigate the complexities of land-based community empowerment, drawing on her work at Community Land Scotland, in planning practice across the UK, and doctoral research on rural town planning.
These are her suggestions as to how Scotland's latest Land Reform Bill (introduced in 2024) can better support the land needs of communities.
Our Insights Series gives RPC staff, visitors and collaborators an opportunity to publish insights from their own research and lived experiences which may not be associated with other projects.
