Rural Exchange

Stage 2: Evidence Review

SRUC is leading a review of existing evidence, for Stage 2 of the project.  This will be informed by, and inform, the other stages of the project.

This work is organised into six packages:

  1. Evidence on a process and implementation evaluation.
  2. Review of available data for Community Led Local Development, Scottish Rural Action, Scottish Rural Network .
  3. Review of the policy and delivery context.
  4. Additional evidence to consider.  This will build on the 2024 Desk based review of rural community interventions.
  5. UK and International case studies exploring different rural community development models.
  6. Other Reporting as needed.

In June 2025, we were pleased to public the Review of Policy and Delivery Context.  You can download that below, or from Scottish Government.
